In 2013 I taught foreign English in Dongying, a remarkably ugly, remarkably precious oil capital of Shandong. This microcosm of xenophobic China helped me understand the disagreement between the world's economic supoerpowers. The entire planet is not westernized, nor does it want to be or rely on such idealism to prosper-- perhpaps even more so than the United States.

I have done much traveling before and since China and partake in my own photojournalism en-devours, including those on refugees, wildlife, and the unordinary. If you would like to have one of my photographs enlarged, please email me at gregorelgee@comcast.net. Prints come in aluminum, bamboo, maple, giclee, and acrylic.
