It is a truth, predominantly ignored, that all art is political. Even those artists who claim to eschew politics in their art are making an inherently political decision. It is rare in today's world to find an artist who embraces the political in his art, and even harder to find a political artist who is truly talented. Vladimir V U Lenin is one of this rare group. His work is inspiring. Whether it is a simple shot of a factory, or a richly subtexted reworking of numerous shots, Lenin's work is always a consideration of the world around him. And more than any other photographer on flickr, I consistently wish that his work was my own.
