Drag to set position!
VLADIMIR CETTL (1973) was born in Ústí nad Labem, the Czech Republic. In his youth he studied to be a tailor and later graduated from the Secondary Dress Design school in Prague. As a tailor of scenic costumes he worked in Most and Ústí as well as in the Film Studios AB Barrandov, Prague. He always linked his dress design to photography, the produce of which he has been exhibiting since 1997. His most famous exhibition took place in 1999 as a part of the official programme of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. While his dressmaking has slowly been diminishing since the turn of the century, since 2004 he has become well-known in a completely different setting – motors, at first as a successful renovator of the Škoda 110R Coupé and soon after, once again with a camera in hand. In 2006 he set off on his first trip around the country under the name of „Scouting for Š110R wrecks“, which later became a calendar. Then a proud „Š110R-renovator“ he only shot rusty examples of the legendary Š110R coupés. Later he broaden his interest to include all rusty Czechoslovakian veteran cars, with an emphasis on Tatras. The photos from his scouting trips for car wrecks were first exhibited at the Technical Museum Tatra in Kopřivnici, and have also been seen in such places as Palma de Mallorca. Every year since 2008 he has published a limited edition calendar with photos of rusting veteran wrecks for enthusiasts and collectors. These unique moments of disappearing technical beauty find homes in many countries all over the world. He is currently working as a creative manager, graphic designer and exhibition producer at the museum in Ústí nad Labem.
