About Me:

After 20 years of my Live-in with Service, MOVIE, VAS & IT industry, felt the need to settle down by getting MARRIED to my passion i.e. Photography.

 

The process of authoring the images has given me sense of Achievement, Satisfaction and a HIGH, which, I realized now, was missing.

 

As a tunnel visioned student, chose to go with the herd & completed my B.Sc. (Physics) & BSc.Tech-Instrumentation) followed by MBA (Marketing) & began my Professional Journey.

 

With moto of Never Say Never, I completed my Advanced Photography Course from National Institute of Photography (2015) and kept abreast myself by following photographers, Magazines, YouTube & Insta. My endeavor is to be associated closely with photographers and photography industry.

 

I rest my case with a hope that my epitaph will read " Vivek Photodevan Lived Happily after (Second Marriage)"

My Style

I have not limited myself to any particular genre as my underlying motive while making any image is to capture UNPOSED moments, where the muse is putting on show its true characteristics & not a facade.

 

I constantly visualize through the View Finder with my Thumb all the time on the Back Focus & my index finger on the Shutter to capture the CANDID of People, Place or Pet by incorporating natural framing & NO FLASH. Hence, I would like to define my Style as I Steal Candid’s in darkness.

 

My Style can be summed up by the quote of Diane Arbus “Taking pictures is like tiptoeing into the kitchen late at night and stealing Oreo cookies.”

 

My Briefcase of Images

Though I have been clicking images from 2005, but I really started making images from 2015.

 

Coincidentally this observation of mine agrees with what Henri Cartier-Bresson had said “Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst.”

 

The Images that are part of my portfolio are handpicked by asking myself a question:

 

Do I still remember the way each photograph was made?

 

If answer is YES then it fits in to my briefcase, if no then it was one of the 10K photograph Henri mentioned.
