Why shoot?

I've been taking photographs for just over a year. It started out as less of a hobby, more an attempt to establish whether or not I was any good. This Flickr account documents my transition from absolute novice to now, and covers a wide range of styles from landscape scenery to travel photography and portraiture.

Staring Out

My platform into photography was aided in no small part by Richard and Katie at the the wonderful Lucid Eye Photography. Katie sold me her camera, and they've both provided me with their combined expertise along the way, without which I would probably know nothing about photography.
