Rebecca knows what pain feels like and it shows. This is perhaps a weird way to describe my love for her work, but I'll be honest: her weaknesses are her strength. Afraid to go to the darker places, she does it anyway. She reminds people of their heartaches and also of how they are not alone. She's so wonderful with film, strange colours that show what it's like when your fears cause confusion. Sleeplessness, disgust with oneself, and the feeling that there's always something behind you. Rebecca shows how torturing it can be to be a teenager in this world, but magically makes it beautiful.
