I'm Vince. I'm a big proponent of 35mm film. Mostly color negative.
I do a lot of night and low-light photography, and thus I can light-meter fairly accurately off of the top of my head. Test me on it sometime!
Some of these photos are a few years old, some a few months old.
I also want to mention that I'll be glad to sell prints to anyone who is interested. Feel free to get in contact with me regarding sizes and so-on!
Here's a writeup on the subjects I like to shoot:
"De-industrialization is just one example of the many economically depressing long-term events that have caused many modern urban areas world-wide to lie largely derelict and dormant. The industrial revolution, in the opinion of some, was a short-lived period of prosperity brought about by a production-based economy which thus spawned what is now known as the middle class. Harsh economic times, regulation, and various hindrances to free markets and trade can be argued to have brought many factories of our past to ruin.
Occasionally a hospital or perhaps a military installment closes their doors for the final time due to a similar predicament. While these events could be perceived by many as unfortunate, and it is shameful to see potential commerce and ingenuity waste away upon vacant land, others can see numerous opportunities generally of an artistic nature arising within the walls of a disregarded edifice.
Vince Herbe invites you to view these places as he does through his photography. A respect for history is vital in this day and age, just as it always has been and always will be. This is just another way of showing a deep benevolence for the past and an interest in uncovering what has brought us to where we are in the seemingly prosperous wold of today."
