Vincent Deporter was born in Nivelles, Belgium, but spent most of his childhood in Toronto, Canada. He returned to Europe in 1973 (French Riviera), moved back to Belgium in '78 and started his comics career in Brussels assisting Jean Graton on his series "Michel Vaillant."

Since then he worked in both comics and animation.

Starting in 1984, he made the weekly "Roméo" strip with Philippe Rive for the women's magazine "Maxi" for over 15 years (the strip is still running without him). In 1987, he was present in "Spirou" magazine with the absurd gag series "Crazy Planet", which was followed by "Les Fourmidables" in the 1990s. He signed these comics Mike Deporter. He also did the official comic book for 'Un Indien dans la Ville' with Thierry Lhermitte, while also working on the storyboards for the movie.

After relocating in New York in 1996, he worked on DC's line of comic books adapted from popular animated cartoons, like Ed, Edd n Eddy, the Flintstones, and mainly Scooby Doo. He has also inked many of the Batman and Superman style-guides. At the same time, he worked for Nickelodeon, drawing the Rugrats, The Wild Thornberries, and more notably Spongebob Squarepants, for which he is still a regular writer and artist for the comic book.

He now is preparing several projects, one is a book of Photography & Poetry.
