I have spent the better part of the past twenty years immersed in the captivating world of the creation of art, primarily hand lettering and calligraphy. I have participated in conferences, workshops, lectures and intense programs to discover and learn more about this exciting art form. Even today, I am involved in continuing my education and am learning new and different approaches to calligraphy and letter forms.

I recently relocated to Arizona from Chicago where I was a member of the Chicago Calligraphy Collective. I now am a member of the Arizona Calligraphy Society of Scribes.

Creating art, is for me, essential. It is not something I do, but something that is done through me. I am gifted and blessed. I am honored and privileged to share with all.

When I am not creating or experimenting in my home art studio, I can usually be found at AJ's Fine Foods, where I work full time as a general merchandise manager (hey, even artists need insurance benefits, no?) It's a great job and wonderful company to work with.

My other interests include daily work outs, sometimes at Lifetime Fitness. I try to get my yoga practice in at least twice weekly. Cardio and weight pushing, too. Swimming is my favorite and do so at least two or three times weekly.

To maintain my sanity, I journal. My journal is my personal sanctuary and sacred place where I can let go and process my life and what's happening right now. I will never be found without it. Music is equally as important in my life. My music taste tends towards old school R&B but I like many different flavors. Some of my very favorite artists include Anthony Hamilton, Alicia Keys, Anthony David, Maroon 5, Simply Red, Annie Lennox, Joss Stone, James Morrison, Paolo Nutini, Keane, Snow Patrol, Seal, Luther Vandross, Teddy, Marvin and many more.

I enjoy exploring the spiritual world and teachings of many of the "enlightened". I take away what resonates with me and with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away. I do not prescribe to any strict, dogmatic belief system. I live by the golden rule and my spiritual practice is always to live in the present moment. Easier said than done. A formidable challenge for us mortals!
