Welcome & thanks for dropping by!

I'm a happy go lucky kind of person... Love the outdoors and nature... and the sea!!!

Got my first camera (a normal 35mm point & click film) for my 8th birthday - the best gift ever... Just had fun taking pics of friends etc... My camera died a sad death in about 1989 and I got my next one 13 years later... A film point & click with zoom!!!

In 2005 I bought a little Canon PowerShot 410 just in time for a trip to Zambia - had to have something to capture Victoria Falls and all its glory!!!

In March 2006 I finally gave in to the bug and bought my first digital SLR - a Canon 350D which I'm still using now - despite the fact it is in desperate need of a service!!! Hoping to save for a 450D soon though... Of course it would be a dream to have something like a 1D Mk III or a Hassleblad H3D-31 - I'm sure anyone would agree!!!

I particulary enjoy flower photography. I would love to take landscapes and better still learn to HDR!!! But, photography will remain a hobby and anything new that I learn will be a bonus... Maybe take a course one day?

I'm loving it here on flickr - so many inspirational photographers and such lovely groups / communities... I think I'll be around a while...

If I add you as a contact it's because I admire your work... I don't expect an add / comments in return for mine - I just love appreciating all the beauty out there... If I miss some of your awesome shots, I'll probably stumble upon them at some point & comment!

Thanks to all for the inspiration, advice and comments...

Vera and I have know each other for literally half our lives :-) ... everything from here on forward will be "for the better part" of our lives :-) I have loved adventuring through life with Vera, even though most times we have lived at opposite ends of a town, city, continent and now the world ... I have always appreaciated Vera's unique view and expression of things; creative, caring, giving and encouraging, stimulating in thought and communication, always encouraging growth and development, always ready for a new challenge, a new adventure, a new task, a new encounter ... never abandoning the things of true value and quality, that which is sacred. It is through Vera that I have started photographing the world I see!! I have often tried to describe to her what I see ... and she always did her best to imagine :-) One day, as we were about to head off on an amazing holiday to Zambia, which was to mark the turning point of many things in my life, Vera presented me with a point and click film camera. Vera asked me to SHOW her what I see, not just tell her ... ... and so I got started ... I am loving the photographic journey I am on, and I am most grateful that I have someone like Vera to ask, refer to, share with :-) I feel blessed at the deep connection I share with this precious soul, my dear friend Vera - my life here in this time and space has been enriched so many times over through the sharing :-) Namaste Tina
