The Vendome Press is a preeminent publisher of art and illustrated books. Founded in 1980 by Alexis Gregory, it is named after the most elegant square in Paris, the Place Vendome. The company’s mission is to imbue every book it publishes with the impeccable quality and taste of its namesake.
Vendome specializes in books on the fine arts, history, architecture, interior design, photography, fashion, jewelry, and travel. Among its most distinguished titles are Paris: City of Art, Chanel and Her World, The Great Book of French Cuisine, Made for Maharajas, Man to Man: A History of Gay Photography, Villas of Tuscany, Vienna 1900, Moscow & St. Petersburg, 1900–1920, Seaman Schepps, Private Splendor, and The French Country House.
Vendome also publishes art history textbooks in association with Prentice Hall and has co-published with The Library of America on American writers’ houses.
