Since I started to take pictures a couple years ago, I have learned to see my surroundings much more intensively. That's what I like most about photography: that it opens one's eyes to the beauty of the world. That's why I also mainly take pictures of nature. Because I feel most alive when I'm standing somewhere on a windswept ridge in the mountains before sunrise to see the beautiful colors transform the landscape into a surreal, magical place. And I love taking pictures because it's like a treasure hunt: Where do I find another great photo?

I shoot both digital and on Fuji Velvia slide film.

The last couple years I've lived in Seattle, USA and Dresden, Germany. Now I'm in Ulm, Germany, where I work as a scientist.
