How are you? Please allow me to introduce myself.
I am Jiho. I am proud to have been born in Seoul (KR), where I lived until I was 16. My family eventually moved to Honolulu (HI) where I had my eyes opened to the beauty of nature. My horizons were expanded even further—in fact, my mind was blow away—while I attended college in Providence (RI), and soon thereafter when I lived in France for three months, I came to understand what it is to live. After all the fun, I moved to Baltimore (MD) to learn the definition of family, and I had my heart rekindled in Alaska. Along the way, I majored in ceramics, hand-coded a plethora of PHP/MYSQL code, enjoyed riding on various boards (surf and snow), hugged many good friends, saw the world anew through the eyes of my nephews, and learned good, healthy Korean cooking from my mom. During all of these times, photography was always with me. It guided me to look back, look inward, and happily look forward.
Photography is not only about seizing a moment, but the ability to see and approach a moment differently. I believe even the mundane has a secret it wants to reveal. Photography is what captures that secret—which often only lasts a micro-moment. If we give it just a little attention and awareness, everyday life can reveal so much more than we imagined.
I especially enjoy portrait, street, and documentary photography. I bring my camera everywhere—even to run errands—because anything can happen at any time. This is what gets me up early in the morning and makes me want to stay up late at night. I simply love it.
Now that you know about me, I would like to know more about you. Please feel free to contact me or friend me on Facebook.
