I've been doing photography, on and off, for about 30 years. Did a lot between 2008 and 2014, then had a break for about 11 years, as other things in my life were more of a priority (mostly work, kids, and house renovations). Decided to come back to it in 2025, as I feel like it is beneficial for me in various ways: gets me out of the house and engaged with the world in a different way.

Kit-wise, I've recently bought a Sony a6300 and a couple of lenses, as this seems like a more practical camera for traveling and everyday use (smaller and lighter), but I still have my old Nikon DSLR setup (D7100 + various lenses and bits), which I might still use for more "technical" photography: I have couple of macro lenses for that, plus off-camera flash kit. I also have a Lumix LX100, which I really like, and use sometimes if I just want a small-ish all-in-one camera... plus I still have some of my old film cameras, although I don't see myself shooting film in the foreseeable future, as it just takes up too much extra time on top of time spent actually taking photos.
