It all started when I liberated my Dad's Minolta X-700 and took Bill Pugh's Photography class in high school. He seriously challenged me, 'forcing' me to learn volumes about the mechanics and art of photography and the darkroom, as well as my own potential. What a great teacher. Seriously, he was.

I picked up a Nikon FE2 in 1983, and I've never looked back. In 2004, I converted (mostly) to digital, with the release of the Nikon D70 and it served me well. Last year I upgraded to a D7000 w/Grip, which is simply amazing technology.

My lenses now include a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, a Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8, a Nikkor 70-300mm VR, the Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII, a Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G, the Nikkor 85mm f/1.4G, a Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G, and the Nikkor 10.5mm/2.8 Fisheye. My new SB-910 Speedlights are beginning to see more use. Support comes from a Manfrotto 190XPROB tripod. For packing what I want when I want, I use my Crumpler $7M, and my Kata 3N1-22 bags based on situation.
