To be honest, I don't know what kind of photographer I am - or if I'm even a photographer. I'd rather say I'm an 'observer', or 'listener', or 'storyteller' - Just a regular human being who has the privilege to see and a tendency to overanalyze.

I have a firm belief that pictures have the capacity to change our world (as grandiose as that sounds). And as someone who sees and breathes like you do, I hope that my seeing and breathing gives life to untold stories.

What I do know is that my name is Esther Sze-Yen Chan and I have small hands, but a big heart. I am an Asian-American who loves to eat and laugh (sometimes at the same time). I was raised and slowly braised in Diamond Bar, CA (I'm packed with flavor). And now I'm a student and observer / listener / storyteller at Colorado College learning how to positively impact our world through visual media.
