You know, I've been around. In my 40 years on this Earth, I've met tens of thousands of people. I can't remember the faces of most of them, and can't remember the names of more. This isn't new for anyone; we can all share these feelings. And in the same breath, we speak of those people that are the 'core people' in our lives -- those people that matter most to us who will forever be anything but another face in our memory bank. This is the way I feel about Vanessa. Now, lemme tell you about her... She's quite possibly the warmest, honest and most caring person I've ever met. She's also singularly and uniquely talented, with abilities oozing from every pore. You'll find no one who cares more for their city, their friends and their craft. You can see these traits in her work, especially her Ruins of Detroit collections (one of the most sought-after photo collections anywhere. I invite you - nay, implore you - to sit and spend some time with Vanessa's collections. You might catch a glimpse of one of more brilliant artists I've ever known. When I can't catch some V-love, I come here to her work and love every minute of it.

Here in Flickr I have seen all type of photos; many do not attract my attention more than a few seconds. This does not happen when I see Vanessa´s photostream. They are endowed with spirit, movement, action... a young girl's talent translated into pixels. Her photos pull me into the moment, whether it's a DJ spinning for a sardine-packed room of young scene-stealers... or a quiet, reflective walk through an abandoned building. V's photos have MOOD. She doesn't just compose a shot - she translates a moment in time. Thanks to Flickr and Exposure Detroit, I've known Ms. Miller for two years and it's not just her photos I admire. You can't help but be touched by her beaming positive attitude and unstoppable enthusiasm. She's in love with art and in love with life and it's contageous! I am always anxiously awaiting the next additions to her photostream.
