Photography is a time machine for me and a way to more closely observe the world. It is a way for me to slow down and relax.

In 2020 with travel postponed I began walking in town and noticing small things I had never noticed before. I naturally photographed them. Living four miles from Iowa’s largest lake Red Rock, we are on a migratory flyway. It is always fun to try to capture birds in flight. Pelicans,eagles,and Canada geese can be found in abundance during the winter months below Red Rock dam on the Des Moines River.
