Decided to write a little bit more.
I am a dude living in HK, I have been photographying for some years now, I slowly sharpen my framing skills along with my technical knowledge to take Sunday pictures of my family :)
I learn through photographing them. Hope you'll like my stream.
For my gear, I have:
Fuji X-Pro2
I got it 2nd hand Jan 2018. Well compared to my aging S5 Pro... fast, 24MP, a bridge back to my long gone Bessa R2, can shoot video, while the S5 Pro already had a useless liveview.. :D. Can adapt my old F mount lens with 0.7x crop adapter too. Fujifilm has a current making sense line up of lenses and cameras.
Fuji XF 23mm f2
So far best walkaround lens.. replaced my 50mm framing fov.
Fuji XF 35mm f2
I took it to get the nifty fifty angle of view, just figured out the 23mm is currently better, a little bit wider, became a 35 field of view guy.
I need to shoot more.
Fuji S5 Pro
Not too bad for its age, I purchased it new, still got class leading highlight recovery. 6MP is sufficient for the things I do.
Tokina 11-16 f2.8
My wife hates it between 11 and 15...
Nikkor AF-D 35mm f2
95% of the pictures I made are done with this lens... 50mm on APS-C. Light and good enough, I don't feel the urge to change.
Nikkor Ai-S 50mm f1.2
I don't have time to use it much, MF, so it's hard to focus, and because Hong Kong's place are so small, it's a bit difficult to frame.
Tamron AF Di 90mm f2.8 macro
My wife loves it, good bargain macro lens.
SB-900
Very useful, good power, never really pushed it to its knees. But most of my indoor pictures are made with it. It gives more control, more light, more flavor, it enhances the whole picture.
Gone:
Nikkor 18-70 f3.5-4.5
Nikon F3
Voigtländer Bessa R2
Voigtländer Ultron 35mm f1.7
Jupiter 3 50mm f1.5
Jupiter 9 85 f2
Wish List:
Nikkor 180/2.8 or Sigma 150/2.8 or Sigma 120-300 f2.8
a telephoto in other words.
A new body.... Looking at the Nikon Df... But would like to stick to Fuji... although the X-system has a big flaw, the power consumption that is not very good. Plus, it's still APS-C, I would like to move to FF for the DOF control flexibility, I do find all those people praising the X-system and saying that it's better than FF bodies a complete nonsense. Seriously, it's like comparing a 24x36mm sensor with a MF body sensor... There is a size difference that leads to a higher degree of flexibility in DOF control and no matter how good the sensor is... you cannot change that.
Anyway, if Fuji comes with a FF body, I'll take it.
Ah, I do speak French! It is my mother tongue. I was born in Paris.
I wish you have a good time on my stream.
