The University of Toronto (U of T), founded in 1827, has degree-granting authority from the Province of Ontario. It is a member of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, the Association of Commonwealth Universities, and one of only two Canadian members of the Association of American Universities. U of T Scarborough, founded in 1964, is one of three campuses of U of T (St. George, UTM are the others).
