All my photos are free and you can download full-size copies – I want to you enjoy them and use them. All I ask in return is that you respect the simple licence conditions:

* State the image title

* Say where you it got from with a url to the image

* Credit the image to me

* Indicate the specific licence with url.

For example:

"Sony A77ii" © User:Colin Used under CC BY-SA 2.0 licence.

In print media (or media that maybe printed such as PDF), the url to the image page on Flickr and the url to the Creative Commons licence must be spelled out in text. These are required so that those reading/viewing your work are able to access the source image and reuse it if the licence terms are suitable for them.

The free licence is share-alike, which means when you use the images (either unchanged, or in a derivative work) then the image you publish must also be made available under the same free licence.

All my photos are available for free commercial reuse. The exception are those photos taken in Whipsnade Zoo as their terms prohibit commercial photography without paying a fee.

I believe photographers should consciously decide whether they want to make money from each photograph or not. If they do then they should actively pursue that and take measures to protect their income. But if not then why not set their photos free. Gift them to the community. Don't lock them up with "All rights reserved", upload tiny copies, cover them with watermarks, or worry that someone else may make money from then when you have chosen not to.

I want to encourage you to make use of my work in ways that are also free. But I understand that sometimes this is not possible. If you wish to use an image outside of the terms of the licence offered here, please contact me so we can come to an arrangement.
