Urban Gateways is a center for arts education based out of Chicago, IL. Founded in 1961, we strive to ignite the full creative potential of all young people. We believe that all children should: have equitable access to the arts, be able to experience a broad range of art forms, have the opportunity to learn from professional artists themselves, and seek collaboration with others as a pathway to success. Our programs not only expose students to diverse forms of art but also engage and develop them into being innovative problem solvers. Just as the founding group envisioned, Urban Gateways uses art education as a mechanism for social change.
