The salmon paradise Namsen and Upper Namsen Fishing are located in Grong Municipality, 220 km north of Trondheim.

Namsen is widely regarded as one of the finest rivers on the world for large Atlantic salmon. During both the 2000 and 2001 seasons, more than 4000 Kg of salmon were caught on the river.
