Fall '12 Notes ~~ Life for me is still very unsettled, so much to do and decide following Dad's passing. Creative time is not available to me right now and I miss my flickr connection. I hope you will not forget me and I will tune in whenever i am able. Best to all ~

Spring/Summer '12 Notes ~~ After a bit more than a month in the hospital, then hospice center, my dad passed away on June 23, 2012. It was a beautiful and terrible time and he will be missed by many but especially by me, his only daughter. See you all sometime...

Fall '11 Notes ~~ After a wet and hot summer, fall arrives with its share of rain. Mushrooms have spread like carpets over pathways and slopes, the leaves are beginning to color. Did you know that the trees actually push the leaves off? I had always felt a little sad for the trees when they lost their coats of many colors but now understand that they really "vant to be alone." Change is in the air for me as well. I will going into the hospital in mid-October for surgery. Never having had major surgery before, I feel a mix of apprehension of the unknown and a desire to improve the quality of my life. I will be spending time with all of you throughout my recuperation. See you, flickr friends ~~

Spring '11 Notes ~~ It has been nearly two years since I joined flickr and the experience has made a "world" of difference in my life. I have been ill throughout the winter months and many of you have kept me company during this introspective period. I have grown and learned much from you/about you and hope my pictures have and will continue to paint an impression of me/of my point of view. I am convinced that those who take pictures "see" life in ways I wish everyone could experience. Take care & see you through your pictures ~~ M

I am an artist [metal enameling/mixed media] who also loves to compose/make photographs. An emotional response often gives way to a spontaneous reaction and I am off to "play with the light." Through the lens I try to fine tune the elements of design, color, texture, and line, but the story within the picture is as important to me. Photographs help me to remember and the natural world is my "canvas" and my lens.

Inspiration comes to me through the details, by treading lightly, taking care...and looking, always looking.
