I...

...am an amateur photographer with an inability to express myself fluently on these profiles

...have lived in Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Hertfordshire, England, and spent the final quarter of 2008 at Mount Holyoke College which completely changed my life.

...currently reside in Brighton, England, which has been my home for about three years now. My city rocks my world. =D

...have been shooting for almost two years now, but photography became a passion in about November 2007.

...use either a Nikon D40x (with either the kit lens or the 50mm f/1.8), Sony DSC S80 or an Olympus SP 310; I love them all but the Nikon is my other half!

...post process. Sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. I increasingly shoot in RAW, so it's often necessary.

...would, consequently, be lost without CS3 and/or GIMP

...post sporadically; I didn't complete the 366 photo project because for me, forced creativity doesn't work that much. When I want to shoot, I'll shoot and it normally works better that way.

...spend my day surrounded with books, computers, tea and fantastic people; yep, I work in a library and I love it. =D

...often confuse people with ramblings about literature, politics or obscure early modern society (I'm currently reading James Shapiro, Ian Fleming, Richard Dawkins and David Sedaris. :D)

...don't like it when people take my photos and don't give me credit ^^;

- am very happy to take on new photography assignments =D

...can always be made happy by the beautiful, the whimsical and the renaissance-tastical. =D

Inspirations:

Dan is one of my closest friends and damn, his landscape work is impressive. His technical knowledge rules all, which really shows in his photography.

Miss Aniela is probably my favourite self-portrait photographer, whose work really shows that a study of the self is about so much more than just narcisstic posing.

Jon's HDR shots are breathtaking, and he's an absolutely lovely contact - so supportive!

Lis' love of art is inherent in her photography and her creativity knows no bounds.

Jo has the ability to photograph the utterly beautiful aspects from her life that you can tell mean a great deal to her. All of her photographs show how well she can document where she goes in her life; from portraits of her friends to vast american landscapes it is clear in all of her photos what a great artistic eye she has. If you ever get the chance to go on a photographing trip with her, don't pass it up. She knows exactly what to photograph and does it exceptionally. :)
