The PBSO helps to sustain peace in conflict-affected countries by garnering international support for nationally owned and led peacebuilding efforts. The office fosters a coherent, coordinated approach to peacebuilding throughout the United Nations family by facilitating discussions on peacebuilding-related issues, including by regularly convening meetings of the Senior Peacebuilding Group and the Peacebuilding Contact Group. This support is firmly based on PBSO’s function to disseminate lessons learned and good practice and its aim to levering knowledge for peacebuilding results.
