Of the engineering i.e. technical type with a slight artistic bent (so I'm told but I see it more as a warp) but that may have been corrupted by several years of technical drawing at school, hence the Flickr name.
Aged in the ascending forties fifties I have spent most of my life in New Zealand but lived for a year in Washington state, USA and loved it. But life is full of twists and I am back in the country of my birth...for now.
My aesthetic is a bit different, What you will find is a thoughtful often orthogonal consideration of the topic (although this many be under an influence) but will be from my perspective.
Should you not agree I will accept you view but unless your argument is flawless, I will not change my position.
Yes my work is often dark, but that is a reality I live with, no more need be said.
I am currently using a Nikon D7100 (after the unfortunate passing of my D70s) and a Fuji X100s both of which I love. There has been much discussion on the emphasis on which photographers place on their equipment but having had many cameras over the years I can say that when you are "at one" (my apologies for using this cliche but language is not my strength) with your camera and enjoy using it you can get the best you both have to offer. I like the weight of the Nikon and the sound of the shutter, it appears and sounds to be a well engineered camera with a grace not present with many other modern models.
"Beauty may be found in multiple components working together in all dimensions as one."
Please do not post any awards to my photos. What I enjoy seeing is honest opinions (positive or negative) that I can use to grow as an amateur photographer.

If you are looking for a spectacular, colorfull and eye catching photographs, you should look elsewhere. What you can find here is a much deeper study of shapes and tones and subtle interpretations of everyday life. I always find unlearn_art's photos intriguing and quite different from most other stuff you can see on flickr. Not the kind of guy that would draw masses of comments or faves (which would be well deserved!), but a kind of guy which makes you think and rethink his photos. The first time I saw his photo "undressed" it tatooed in my brain and I come back to it often. Much the same with some other work of his. Hats off to you, my friend! Thanks for the good influence I got from you and for the comments/suggestions in my photostream.
