Amateur photographer, amateur historian, have had no formal training in either. I prefer gritty to pretty, bleak to sleek. I love getting out of the city and exploring the countryside, using my camera to capture people's past attempts to make a living on the land. In that regard, my photographs may be more expository than artistic. That probably won't earn me a whole lot of followers, but I'm being true to myself. Isn't that what art is all about?
