University of the Pacific is the oldest chartered university in California. It has about 6,500 students and offers several doctorial degrees as well as over 100 undergraduate majors. Notable schools at Pacific include the McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, the Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco and the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Stockton. It also has a business school, a school of education, a school of international studies, an engineering and computer sciences school, a music conservatory and a liberal arts college. In addition, the university is home to the Brubeck Institute and the John Muir Collection.
