Jody Cooley owner of Unibrow Art was born in the small town of Mattoon, Illinois in 1970 where she began practicing art at a very early age. By age 21, Jody was inspired to move to Chicago where she began carving out her creative path. Eager to share her experiences and inspire others she became the founder and director of an art program for adults with developmental disabilities called "Arts of Life." Years later in 2006 Jody founded yet another art program, Graffiti Zone, for at-risk kids on Chicago's west side, encouraging kids to express themselves through art, all while promoting business and social skills as well as positive thinking. To escape the busy city life, Jody purchased a weekend home on the river in Three Rivers, MI in 2007 and has since taken an active involvement in the community. Jody founded Friends of Scidmore Park Petting Zoo to keep the park a free family-friendly landmark in the community, raising money through various fundraisers including the fun and highly successful "Kiss the Pig" event. She stepped down as president to focus on a new project. Jody purchased a building in the creative downtown districts of Three Rivers and began her pursuing her lifelong dream of owning an art gallery. UniBrow Art Gallery, both a place to create and display art, is now set to open in September of 2012. Jody is a self- taught artist, working with many platforms, including mixed media, painting, sculpture, photography and pretty much anything inspiring she can find in the trash.
