Things that make me happy include: travel (any destination, or even at random with no destination in mind); a good garlicky marinara sauce; the smell of wisteria at dusk; a hot bath overflowing with bubbles; a glass of heady cabernet or a pint of Guinness, Maredsous 10 or Old Speckled Hen; shelter rescue cats; walking barefoot on the beach; fresh bread baking in the oven; the sound of children's laughter; men with accents; good music (all kinds - jazz, blues, punk, rock, country, rap, etc.), Dublin Dr. Pepper, bossa nova and rainy nights.

I'm a sucker for fresh flowers. I love to garden, and drive for hours along backroads. I'm quite fond of quirky 1940s vintage styles, old Hitchcock films, christmas lights (old school multicolor or plain white - but never mixed); cuban foot silk stockings and black lace garters; dancing; brie; fishing (fresh water predominately - but deep sea too); begniets and chicory coffee with jazz in New Orleans; vintage hats; curling up with a good book on a rainy day; flannel sheets; the earthy smell of feed stores; towels warm from the dryer; old Quebec; waterfalls (one of the most beautiful I've ever seen was hiking in the mountains of New Hampshire); horseback riding; sleeping on the beach; flying first class; champagne; morning glories; waterford crystal; getting a massage; and fresh pineapple and peaches that leave sticky rivulets of juice all over you.

I believe anything worth doing is worth doing passionately.
