Pakistan joined the United Nations on 30 September 1947. The United Nations has a long-standing ‎partnership with the people of Pakistan in support of national development goals and provides ‎humanitarian assistance in case of natural disasters and crises

 

The 23 (resident and non-resident) UN agencies, funds, programmes and offices work together to ‎ensure that vulnerable and marginalized populations have continued income as well as access to ‎good quality social services and food. They also promote good governance, democracy, gender ‎equality and human rights. The United Nations in Pakistan provide also humanitarian assistance and ‎promote the protection of refugees and internally displaced people.‎
