UN Aral Sea Programme is a joint effort of UNDP, UNESCO, UNFPA, WHO and UNV in Uzbekistan, supported by UN Trust Fund for Human Security. The Joint Programme seeks to address human security needs of the population of Karakalpakstan affected by the Aral Sea environmental crisis. It is planned to improve income generation opportunities, healthcare and capacity of local governance.
