I am a retired deep sea mariner and so was lucky enough to travel the world. This took me to some wonderful places; South Georgia being my favourite. Retirement plans to travel to where I lived as a boy in Kenya blown apart by a Brain Tumour preventing long haul travel.

I was always interested in photography as a youngster and graduated from a Kodak INSTAMATIC to a PRACTIKA L and then on to a PENTAX ME Super. Marriage and children slowed my progress down. The advent however of affordable digital techniques has rekindled my interest.

I used to use NIKON (D80/D7000/D800/COOLPIX P6000) extensively but have sold most of those and shifted to SONY mirrorless (A6300/A7iii) as well as a RX100VI which is superb for sticking in my pocket. I had a MAVIC PRO2 until recently but now have a MINI3PRO and MINI4 PRO; drone addict! A day without taking a picture is a day wasted and a mobile in your pocket is just as good as many a camera!
