Johan’s firm, OvP played a major role in the reconstruction of the Common and the implementation of the public spaces, the jewel being the 12ha public park.

SATURDAY 17 MARCH, 2012 FROM 10:00 TO 15:00:
A visit to some of the architecturally interesting wineries with Alex Robertson:
There has been an explosion of new wine estates in the Western Cape in the past 20 years. They are fascinating to visit because of their different and beautiful locations and the varied styles of their architecture. Alex has been part of a panel of judges who has visited most of these wineries over the past 3 years. This has given him a unique overview and he has chosen 2 wineries in the Somerset West-Stellenbosch area, Waterkloof, and Vergelegen’s new wine-tasting centre for you to visit.
We will travel in our own cars, preferably sharing. Meet Alex at 10:00 at a venue to be decided later. Lunch will be booked at the Bodega Restaurant, Dornier and is to your own cost. Alex’s contact details are: cell: 082-777-7054; office: 021-683-9470; email: alex@araconsultants.com
SUNDAY 18 MARCH 2012 FROM 12:30
A picnic lunch at Thelema Farm, Helshoogte, Stellenbosch:
Bring your own picnic basket with cutlery, crockery, and food and join us on the lawns of the farmhouse at Thelema. We will provide braai fires and divine wine donated by Thelema Mountain Vineyards. If you would like anything else to drink, please bring your own. There is a pool and a dam to swim in if the weather is hot and boule to play on the lawn.
Thelema is situated at the top of the Helshoogte Pass (between Stellenbosch and Franschoek) opposite Delaire and next to Tokara. Jenny’s contact numbers are: mobile: 072-293-3140; home phone: 021-689-3763; Thelema’s phone: 021-885-1924; email: detolly@iafrica.com
