Drag to set position!
UCP of Sacramento and Northern California is the leading provider of comprehensive services to children and adults with all developmental disabilities and their families. UCP works with over 6,658 people a month in our eight-county area, empowering children and adults who - without support - would be isolated from community.
UCP’s mission is to provide programs and services that improve the independence, productivity, and quality of life of people with development disabilities and their families.
UCP serves children and adults with over 20 types of developmental disability, 57% of our clients have autism, 19% intellectual disability, 6% cerebral palsy and 18 % Down syndrome, epilepsy & other disabilities.
UCP was started in Sacramento in 1955 by parents who had a child born with a brain injury – cerebral palsy. At that time the assumption was that parents would put their child into state institutional care. These parents wanted their children home and in community. Today that mission lives on.
UCP provides services that include an adaptive horsemanship activities, adult day programs, community living and support program, in-home respite care for families, transportation – fixed routes. UCP is dedicated to empowering people with developmental disabilities to live life without limits.
The money raised in our service area stays in our community. In fact,
90 cents of every dollar received by UCP is reinvested back into programs and services for children, adults and their families.
UCP serves Yolo, Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer, Nevada, Butte, Shasta and Sutter counties.
