UCLA's Institute for Research on Labor and Employment (IRLE) advances labor research and education for workplace justice. For over 70 years, the Institute has conducted timely, policy-driven, and impactful research on labor markets and how work impacts workers and their families. Through the work of its units – the UCLA Labor Center, the Labor Occupational Safety and Health program (LOSH), the Entertainment and Media Research Initiative (EMRI), the Human Resources Roundtable (HARRT), and its academic program, UCLA Labor Studies – the Institute forms wide-ranging research agendas that carry UCLA into the Los Angeles community and beyond.
