Located within a vibrant arts and cultural scene, the UAB Department of Art & Art History utilizes the rich creative and business resources of Birmingham – Alabama’s largest city. We work closely with local museums and galleries to offer internships and collaborative projects. Our faculty and students exhibit in local, regional and national galleries, and contribute to many community-based projects.

Degrees in Art History, Art Education and Studio Art (Ceramics, Drawing, Graphic Design, New Media, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, & Sculpture) are offered at UAB, and the faculty members in these programs are strongly committed to teaching, studio and research work to ensure that each student is given the tools they need to succeed in an expanding and increasingly complex world.
