I learnt photography in my first year in college when I was 17. Back then, it was black and white, darkroom and cheap Russian cameras and lenses! My first true camera was a Canon film slr, and it stayed with me during my grad schools in England and Australia.

Since I moved to the USA, I have been lucky enough to shoot with a lot of professional equipment from Canon, Zeiss, Leica and Nikon. Unfortunately, the constant lack of time has kept my photography from any significant advancement!

I am a gear nut. I’ve owned pretty much every Canon L lens and professional camera, as well as many rare Zeiss and Leica glasses. Feel free to have a look at my toy’s sets.

I am currently a research scientist at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California. I spent most of my time in the laboratory working to save this world from its destruction! But that’s another story...
