So I got this camera. The idea was for it to help me notice things outside my house. So far it's working.

I started with a Canon Powershot, and now I have a bunch of real camera equipment. It doesn't mean I'm a better photographer, just that people are more likely to worry that I'm stealing their souls. Honestly, you can keep your souls. I wouldn't know what to do with them. I just take pictures because a camera helps me see things I wouldn't see any other way.

Lately I've fallen in love with color transparencies. What I love about them is exactly what makes it pointless to scan them to digital. But if you want to imagine what they look like, then think of the clearest, brightest color you ever seen -- and fall into it. Cool, huh?
