Photography has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From my Instamatic at Girl Scout Camp, to SLR's photographing freelance for environmental organizations, and for the National Park Service as a Ranger-Technician, to the Nikon DSLR's I now use, my life has been a celebration of nature in God's Country.

 

I supplement nature photography with what pays: child and family portraiture in natural settings. A mentor of mine is a corporate and commercial photographer, Joel Silverman. For his work, see www.joelsilverman.com. I thank Joel for his help with post-processing, and for helping me with composition and lighting in my portraiture work.

 

My greatest spiritual soul nourishment is researching, and photographing wildlife, their environment, and understanding their ecology. The writing and teaching side of me wants to share all of this with everyone in the hope that people will look beyond themselves to the natural world.
