This is a small personal gallery of my photographs.

From time to time, new images appear here; others are sold or rented.

I am not interested in reproducing reality. What I photograph is, in fact, something more personal: my own emotional states, the atmosphere of the world I grew up in, beauty as I happen to perceive it, fears, memories, and reflections on life.

I often follow a simple principle: preserve it before it disappears — but do so as a photographer, not merely as an archivist.

I have little use for an abundance of colour. I prefer monochrome photography. To me, the colour of December rain is an entirely acceptable reflection of reality. Like Count Dracula, I cannot stand the sun.

I take great pleasure in working with vintage cameras and lenses. Their imperfections, limitations, and individual character are part of the photographic process.

I do not work on projects. Instead, I enjoy the almost daily companionship of a camera, wherever my legs may carry me. I photograph what I encounter — and, perhaps, what I bring with me.
