I am a mariner, which has been my vocation of choice since I was 13. Since before that age, though, amateur photography had been as prominent hobby in my family. The marine industry and photography are perfect fellows as the subject matter lends itself well with almost always interesting subject matter, for me at least, even when the quality is lack luster. With updated equipment I hope to expand my education and skill set.
For Christmas 2013 my wife and I bought each other new Nikon D3200's as entry to the digital SLR realm. Most of my early practice was in black and white with a Canon AE-1 and a couple of lenses inherited from my grandmother. Although both of my parents had similar cameras and a collection of dark room equipment they were not as active with photography by the time I was and the dark room had been removed to make way for my nursery, always wish I had the opportunity to set it all up again and try my hand at film processing.
Going forward you will see mostly marine industry photos simply because I find them interesting with the occasional foray into more creative shots as I practice.
