Sheryl and I had seen each other around on flickr for quite some time before we became contacts. I sincerely wish it had happened sooner; I've missed so much of her deliciously wonderful macros, her love of winged creatures and her kindness and generosity to her friends. She is a great flickr treasure, witty, insightful -- and such a keen eye for detail. Had we not met, my own experience here would be much less enriched. I value her comments, her images, they way she thinks and apprehends. She has so many virtues, honesty among the first and best, and I'm drawn into her world, beckoned by the mysterious simplicity she captures and shares.

Where to start? I was never much of a fan of birds but Sheryl is teaching me to learn about them and even like them a little bit. :) Her bird photographs are of such a consistently high standard that I can't help but be drawn into their world. I was never much of a fan of birds but Sheryl is teaching me to learn about them and even like them a little bit. :) Her bird photographs are of such a consistently high standard that I can't help but be drawn into their world. (I am also insanely jealous of her 400mm lens :)) I especially get excited when Sheryl experiments with other subject matter. Her willingness to play around with different techniques is inspiring. I admire her an awful lot for this. Above all, I value Sheryl's comments on my own photographs. Her supportiveness knows no bounds and is one of the things that keeps me going here on flickr. Her criticism is always constructive and, while I may not always act on what she says, I do always take it on board. Shine on you crazy diamond :)

I first saw Sheryl's icon underneath Mr. PYLTN's photos - and thought - if she's a friend of his, she must have something! And I discovered a great photographer - at first I was totally blown away with her birds shots, that I continually admire (and OK - I'm a bit envious too!) - but the quality of photography being displayed here in general is simply awesome! I wish somebody pro would soon discover what a great wildlife photographer we're dealing with here! Sheryl was one of my first contacts and has been the most consistent contact I have, always commenting on new photos and sharing her perspective on them. In every type of group there are individuals who I chose to look up because they display the type of character and/or ability that I wish to obtain one day. Sheryl is that person on flickr for me. She has made want to become a better photographer and to become an active member on flickr. I especially enjoy her shots of the florida's native wildlife that I can find in my backyard. She even takes time to write lengthy captions which share information on whatever animals she shoots. Thanks so much for being such a great contact!

There're different groups of members here: One that just like to comments as much as possible to get the comments back. There're different groups of members here: One that just like to comments as much as possible to get the comments back. Such comment is normally just 'nice shot', 'beautiful', etc. It's probably copy & paste comments...LOL. We can observe this flat comments easily. Another group is the one that doesn't comment for whatever reasons. The best group is the one really looks at the picture and comments thoughtfully. Not a lengthy comment, but you know he/she put a thought about the picture. The fun group is the one that makes the thread / post alive with discussions & lively comments...it's like chatting. I think this is the base of flickr's foundation. Obviously Trykemom belongs to the best group. This is only from commenting aspect. There's no doubt on picture quality you have shown on your stream. They deserve a separate testimony :-)

She can tackle any subject and produce an impressive result but her work with flowers, animals and nature in general are particularly remarkable. They are sharp, well lit and beautifully composed. She is tireless in her pursuit of excellence; 40 hours of experimenting for a single shot? and what a shot! She has helped me in administering a couple of groups so far and I hope to drag her into a few more! She applies the same energy and zeal to these groups as she does to her photography. Amazing. And her comments - always encouraging, inquisitive and entertaining; often all at once!
