I moved from Australia to NZ (Christchurch) in January 2008, where I am enjoying the new natural wonders that this country has to offer. I am a marine scientist, avid conservationist and bird enthusiast.

Nature has always fascinated me, and I'm continually stunned at how wonderfully complex nature is. There is always more to learn, and just when you think you understand a particular animal trait or behaviour, you realise how much more you need to learn. This fascination has not only led to a career choice for me but a general passion for nature, which has naturally led to the photography side of things.

In the last year my photography has somewhat changed from what was purely a way to record wildlife I'd seen etc. to a greater appreciation for photography as an art form.

I have a Nikon D80 DSLR, and enjoy taking photos of the natural environment especially wildlife, which I find challenging and very rewarding!!!!

I've recently upgraded to a Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 lens, which I find to be quite a sharp and handy wee lens (maybe not so wee), and with the addition of a new 1.4X teleconverter (168-420mm f4), it seems to be doing a good job of reaching my avian friends.
