I have been a professional artist since 1989, working in various media, particularly hand-painted silks and acrylics, and lately in oils. In 1999, I moved toward working in digital illustration and in Web design. Having acquired my degree in Information Technologies and Communications Design, I added more traditional graphic design and multimedia design in 2003. In 2006, I started my own design firm, Karl Designs, based out of the Monterey Bay area, California. One of the most exciting things about this is that I have been able to provide creative solutions for my clients, tailored to their needs.

It's funny how things come full circle -- now I am integrating my illustration and art into my products and am also creating and selling them online through a great avenue, iStockPhoto (see more below).
