I am in my mid 30's and I have been an artist since early childhood. Within the last few years, I have begun to take photography more seriously.

I am originally from Ashtabula, Ohio. Being in the Army and National Guard for over 12 years, I have seen a small portion of the world. After returning from Iraq, I moved to Southwest Florida to be with the woman who would become my wife.

I have always tried to take good, artistic pictures with the autofocus cameras. First it was with 110's and Polaroid instants. Then I moved on to the 35mm point-and-shoot cameras. In 2005, I bought a 6.1 MP Kodak point-and-shoot. Finally, in 2006, I bought two SLR cameras - one film and one digital, and I have been taking a lot of pictures since.

Currently, photography is more of a hobby, but I would love to improve my skills so I can make some money from it! My biggest photo accomplishment to date is Jones Soda choosing one of my photographs for use on a label for their Green Apple Soda.

I operate a variety of blogs. One of my longest running blogs showcases a variety of my photography and can be found at Troy's Photo Studio. Most recently, I set up a few different blogs to cater to specific genres of my photography. Here are a few of the links:

Troy's Bird Photography

Troy's Wildlife Photography

The Lock Project

Troy's Abstracts

Squared Circle Project

And then I have another blog set up for my paintings, but that hasn't been getting as much attention as I should be giving it. Anyway, here is that link: Paintings by Troy.
