For years I enjoyed the smell of fresh film and the satisfying click of the shutter with my 1981 Pentax ME-F. In 2004 I made the switch to digital with a Nikon D70 digital SLR and then a D300 in 2008. While I can't smell the film, I still get the click plus the freedom of digital.
From the outset, I have been focused on capturing the beauty of nature, be it a macro shot of some well designed insect, flower or pattern, to sweeping landscapes. Storms continue to draw me outside when more reasonable people head for shelter. The raw power in nature is a challenge to capture (and sometimes dangerous), but it has great rewards. A peaceful, quite scene from nature quiets me, and that is what I seek to capture.
I love experiencing nature and I want my images to reflect the beauty I see out there. I mostly do photography for my own pleasure, but I also think that photography is almost pointless if you don't share it with others. For me, photography is usually about getting out in nature, looking for a different perspective, enjoying the beauty of God's creation, and then sharing my discoveries with others.
I hope you enjoy viewing these photographs as much as I had in taking them. I
Interests include photography, astronomy, and spending time with my family.
