I have been interested in photography all my life. I got a great impetus from the school photo club. My first real camera was a 35mm Voigtländer Vito BL with a great lens. I learned a lot from this little camera with its lovely framed viewfinder and depth of field scale.

In 2004 I went digital, now I use a Nikon DSLR for 'serious' photography and a very portable little Panasonic DC-TZ90 travel zoom for incidental shots. And of course the camera on my phone.

Originally from Yorkshire, I studied in London and have lived in Cheshire and Staffordshire. In the 1970s we moved to the Netherlands. Married to an art historian who specialises in medieval culture. Now retired after 40 years working in industrial automation. Children and grandchildren in various parts of the world. Two cats who (dis)organize the household.

Why do I have an account on Flickr? I like to share my pictures with others around the world and I like to see which pictures other folk enjoy. At the same time I like to interact with other photographers. Photos tell a story, who you are and where you have been. And how you see the world around you.

May your battery never run flat!
