I now live in Edinburgh (having moved from Somerset, England in August 2012), and my job involves transport so a lot of my photos relate to my work. However, I did not get into photography for this reason, and I still like to take plenty of artistic photographs where possible.

I've recently set up a new group pool for motorcycle parking and am hoping this attracts some new members: www.flickr.com/groups/motorcycleparking/

I used go out and about taking photographs in Bristol and I still go back there, so a lot of my photos are also from there.

I try not to put snapshots on flickr, though inevitably I include some. My photos are split between by fairly standard £200 digital camera (I've recently replaced my F455 with a F550EXR, after a "year off" photography), which I use on its manual settings, and a few on my camera phone. The latter's handy in an emergency!

I'm learning my F550 and seeing how it goes.

I generally favour photos that haven't been altered after they've been taken. All my early photos were as is, i.e. not cropped, botoxed or otherwise modified. Nowadays, I sometimes play around with exposure, black/white settings, the standard 'boost colour' settings etc., but I try to keep my pictures as true as possible. Otherwise I'd be a painter.

I've put some of my favourite photos under the myfavourites tag - only around 200, which means only one in 20 photos that I put on flickr are actually worth it. But you have to take many to get the good ones!

These photos are taken and described in a personal capacity.
